1. Zero-Server File Storage Architecture
The strongest security guarantee for file processing is not encrypting files on someone else's cloud server—it is never sending your files to an external server in the first place.
Traditional online file converters force users to upload proprietary contracts, medical documents, personal family photos, and confidential records to centralized cloud storage buckets. Free Reducer eliminates this attack surface entirely. Our servers do not receive, store, or archive your files.
2. In-Browser Execution & Memory Sandboxing
All image resizing, JPEG compression, PDF manipulation, and format conversions execute within your modern web browser's isolated execution sandbox using:
- HTML5 2D Canvas APIs: Operating directly on browser pixel buffers without leaving device memory.
- WebAssembly (Wasm): Sandboxed binary modules that execute compiled code in an isolated linear memory space with hardware-enforced boundaries.
- Blob & Object URLs: Generated locally via
URL.createObjectURL()to stream converted files straight from device memory to your browser downloads.
When you close the browser tab or navigate away, memory allocated for file manipulation is automatically purged by your browser's garbage collector.
3. Automatic EXIF & Metadata Sanitization
Photos taken on modern smartphones and digital cameras frequently contain embedded Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) metadata, which may include exact GPS coordinates of your home or office, camera serial numbers, and precise timestamps. When Free Reducer recompresses images through canvas pipelines, sensitive EXIF headers are stripped by default, protecting your location privacy before you share or publish images.
4. Input Sanitization & Filename Defense
All filename manipulations and ZIP archive packaging routines employ strict algorithmic sanitization to neutralize directory traversal sequences (such as ../ or null bytes %00). Generated download filenames strictly conform to safe alphanumeric character sets and verified file extension mappings.
5. Transport Layer Security (HTTPS)
All web assets, styles, scripts, and WebAssembly packages are delivered over encrypted HTTPS using modern TLS protocols. We enforce Strict Transport Security headers to safeguard all communications between your browser and our edge delivery network against tampering or man-in-the-middle attacks.
6. Dependency Auditing & Code Hygiene
Our application bundle is kept lean, avoiding bloated third-party trackers or unnecessary runtime libraries. All client-side dependencies are continuously monitored and audited against known Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) databases.
7. Vulnerability Reporting & Responsible Disclosure
We welcome responsible security research and value feedback from the cybersecurity community. If you discover a potential security flaw, vulnerability, or misconfiguration:
- Please send a detailed report directly to support@freereducer.com with subject “Security Vulnerability Report”.
- Include reproduction steps, proof-of-concept details, and your affected browser environment.
- We ask that you allow reasonable time for our engineering team to triage and resolve the issue before public disclosure.
