Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Client-Side File Processing

Free Reducer (freereducer.com) is architected around a privacy-first, client-side processing model. When you compress, convert, or edit image, document, audio, or video files using our web utilities, the transformation algorithms execute directly inside your device's local web browser engine using HTML5 Canvas, WebAssembly, and standard Web APIs.

Your files do not leave your device. They are not uploaded to, inspected by, or stored on Free Reducer servers. The local browser memory allocated to process your files is released immediately when processing finishes or when you close the browser tab.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Because our operations occur locally within your browser sandbox, Free Reducer does not collect, record, or profile:

  • File contents, document text, images, audio streams, or video footage
  • Source or target file names and directory paths
  • Embedded metadata, EXIF tags, author information, or geolocation tags
  • User account credentials, passwords, or personal payment details

3. Technical Information We May Collect

Like virtually all web services, when your browser requests web assets (such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WebAssembly modules) from our hosting network, standard server network logs may temporarily record:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address (used for network routing, DDoS mitigation, and geographic server routing)
  • Browser user agent string and operating system version (used to deliver compatible WebAssembly builds)
  • Referring URL and requested page paths
  • Timestamp and HTTP status code of the network request

These standard network logs are maintained strictly for operational security, infrastructure stability, and network protection by our edge delivery provider.

4. Local Storage & Cookie Usage

Free Reducer utilizes browser local storage for essential client preferences:

  • View Preference: We store a key named free_reducer_view_mode in your browser's localStorage to remember your preferred layout choice (such as desktop layout toggle on mobile screens). This key contains purely client UI state and no personal data.
  • Session State: Temporary in-memory state during batch processing resides only in active browser memory and is discarded upon navigation or tab closure.

For additional details regarding storage and management controls, please consult our dedicated Cookie & Storage Policy.

5. Analytics & Future Advertising Disclosures

Measurement & Analytics: Where configured, we may utilize privacy-conscious measurement and tag management tools (such as Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4) to monitor aggregated traffic patterns, page response times, and browser compatibility distributions. Google Tag Manager operates solely as an orchestration mechanism and does not directly store personal data. IP addresses are anonymized or masked where applicable, and no individual file activity is associated with analytics metrics.

Advertising & Google AdSense Readiness: Free Reducer is designed to support sustainable operations through non-intrusive online advertising, such as Google AdSense. When advertising is active:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland will be presented with a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) to manage advertising preferences and consent choices in compliance with the EU User Consent Policy.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting AboutAds.info or Google Ads Settings.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Because user files are processed purely in client-side browser memory and are never transmitted to our servers, Free Reducer holds zero user files in server storage. Consequently, there are no user files to retain or delete on our backend systems. Clearing your local browser cache or closing your session removes all in-memory artifacts.

7. Security Practices

We enforce Transport Layer Security (HTTPS) across the entire platform to safeguard data in transit between your browser and our edge servers. Filename manipulation utilities implement strict sanitization to neutralize directory traversal and cross-site scripting risks. For complete architectural details, see our Security & Architecture page.

8. Children's Privacy

Free Reducer does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable European jurisdictions). Our utilities are general audience tools that operate locally on uploaded files without user registration.

9. International Users & Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Union, United Kingdom, or California), you may hold statutory rights regarding personal data. Because Free Reducer does not require account creation, track identities, or retain files, we hold no personal data linked to your identity beyond transient HTTP server logs.

10. Policy Updates & Contact Information

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to our tools, legal requirements, or advertising practices. When updates occur, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
